Every year, I go on road trips to fulfill my bucket list of places I always wanted to visit. Sometimes, the hardest thing to navigate is if the destination will have a possible trigger and if said trigger pops up, how do I minimize the damage? Well, I have what I call my personal checklist for each destination. Since I am triggered by flickering lights and the colors red and blue (see my first article for more details), I try to avoid travels over the 4th of July weekend or anytime there are a large number of U.S. flags flying in the area. Also, if it is too hot, I try not to travel in the heat ( I cannot sweat a lot. Side effect of my medication). I keep it in a short range of travel, not too far away but close enough to visit. (Considering the time frame and costs, I try to make it work onn a budget).
It is also important that I keep a first aid kit and my medications on standby in case something crops up on the road. Also in my travel bag are snacks, wipes, directions, and some good tunes to keep the trip fun and interesting.
If you travel on the road, what are some of your tips or tricks to make the trip fun? Do you have an emergency bag with you? What are your favorite places to visit? Let me know in the comments section.
